Warnings
It is essential for clinical judgment to be exercised in evaluating whether the information provided by the Device is clinically appropriate. All responses from the Device necessitate careful consideration by healthcare professionals to determine their relevance and applicability in a given clinical context.
The recommendations offered by Touchdose are subject to two key constraints: the availability of Client-approved reference data pertinent to specific patient groups, medications, and conditions, and the inherent Limitations and Contraindications associated with the Device's use. Moreover, the medication and dosing suggestions generated by the Device rely solely on the inputs received.
Touchdose does not check for drug–drug interactions. The clinician must independently check for interactions between the prescribed medication and the patient's other medications using their normal interaction-checking resources. See Drug drug interactions in the Limitations section.
If Touchdose returns a recommendation that appears clinically inappropriate, do not use it. Refer to the BNF, BNFC, or your local guidelines, and report the issue to Dosium (contact@dosium.com) and to your organisation's clinical safety officer. See Reporting an incident.
When Touchdose writes a dose recommendation into the EP System's order form, the clinician retains full responsibility for the resulting order. Before signing, the clinician must review every field, complete any field that Touchdose was unable to populate, and act on any clinical decision support presented by the EP System.
Existing clinical decision support in the EP System — such as duplicate checks and interaction alerts — continues to operate as normal whether or not Touchdose is used. The use of Touchdose does not bypass these safety mechanisms.
